Josh Worrell, Adelaide Crows forward, who is a key player, was in a serious crash that occurred Friday before training period for the scheduled Gold Coast match.
The accident hurt a nearby pedestrian, who police then took to a hospital.
Worrell was not taken into custody at the scene of the incident.
Teammates told reporters in the media room Worrell seemed troubled after the crash.
Police now examine the incident as reported, and have issued a official statement.
The club has said they will assess if Worrell can play in the game against Gold Coast, pending fitness assessment, if cleared, and will look at the decision shortly.
