Bam Adebayo left the Miami Heat vs. Denver Nuggets game on Wednesday after suffering a left foot injury. The 28-year-old was listed as questionable before the game but did not return after exiting early. At the time of this update, Miami was trailing 122-112 in the fourth quarter.
Anthony Chiang from the Miami Herald reported that Adebayo exited due to a left foot injury. He shared on X, formerly known as Twitter:
Bam Adebayo not on the court for the start of the second half. Kel'el Ware starting in Adebayo's place.
Adebayo got injured just eight minutes into the game, showing visible signs of severe pain.
Obviously Bam going down was unexpected but still competing vs the #1 offense and a top 5 defense is still so much to build off of. Last year's team would've lost by 35. There shouldn’t ever be a rebound disparity of 20 rebounds that deflating and gives the other team more attempts.
Was always gonna be tough with Bam. Made impossible once he didn’t come back in. Proud of the effort the group showed... hopefully Nikola Jokic can give Niko some advice while he's there. Hopefully Bam’s injury isn’t too bad, but the fact there wasn’t an update concerns me.
Before the injury, Adebayo averaged 22.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game, shooting 46% from the field.
Author’s summary: Bam Adebayo’s early exit due to a left foot injury has concerned Miami Heat fans amidst a tough game, leaving his health status uncertain but impact clearly significant.
