The Miami Heat find themselves in a waiting phase regarding Bam Adebayo’s health. Late Wednesday night, after wrapping up a four-game road trip in Denver, the team headed back to Miami with a sense of unease lingering in the locker room. The concern wasn’t just about losing to the Denver Nuggets 122–112 and finishing the trip 1–3, but about the uncertainty surrounding Adebayo’s condition.
The Heat’s cornerstone player exited Wednesday’s matchup early in the first quarter with a left foot injury and did not return. He’s scheduled to undergo an MRI in Miami on Thursday to determine the extent of the damage.
“We don’t know right now,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said before leaving Denver. “It’s his left foot, so we’ll find out more Thursday.”
Adebayo, a three-time All-Star center and team captain, echoed his coach’s cautious optimism.
“We’ll figure it out,” Adebayo said at his locker. “Get more tests Thursday and then see how it goes.”
Despite the uncertainty, Miami will move forward as it starts a four-game homestand. The team’s first game is part of the NBA’s in-season tournament, hosting the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night at Kaseya Center. Adebayo’s participation in that contest remains doubtful.
Miami returns home anxious for updates on Bam Adebayo’s left foot injury, knowing his recovery could greatly shape the Heat’s momentum early in the season.
