Hilary Duff reflected on her experience during the Lizzie McGuire years and shared insights on the characters' futures after the show during her appearance on the Therapuss podcast.
On November 5, Duff, 38, joined podcaster Jake Shane, 26, to promote her new song "Mature." While discussing music, their conversation also revisited the iconic Disney Channel series from 2001 to 2004.
Reflecting on her role, Duff said,
“I loved it. I had the best time.”She highlighted the show's success, mentioning it
“broke all of their records”for Disney Channel, influencing a new approach for future series.
Duff described the Disney Channel approach at the time as quite formulaic, explaining:
“They just ordered a certain amount of episodes, and that was what they did for their shows. They spent this amount of money, they had this amount of order, and they stuck to that formula for all of those shows.”
Addressing fan speculation about Lizzie and Gordo's relationship after the series, Duff said:
“I think they had maybe an almost thing post.”
She further shared her own interpretation:
“In my mind, I like to think she had a thing with Ethan Craft [Clayton Snyder], finally.”
Duff added that Gordo “is always there to pick up her pieces still.”
