Delayed Opening of Splash Pad at Jonny D. Wallis Neighborhood Park
The City of Goleta has announced a delay in the opening of the Splash Pad at Jonny D. Wallis Neighborhood Park in Old Town.
The city had anticipated opening the facility in 2025, but recent testing and inspection revealed equipment failures, which do not meet the City's safety and quality standards.
"We understand how disappointing this news is for our residents," said JoAnne Plummer, Director of Neighborhood Services. "The Splash Pad has been one of our most anticipated park improvements, and our community has been waiting patiently.
Staff and contractors have been working to address the deficiencies for months.
