Mayor for a Day Essay Contest

Minnesota fourth, fifth, and sixth graders are invited to enter the League of Minnesota Cities' Mayor for a Day essay contest by December.

Students are asked to write a 125- to 300-word essay answering the question:

What would you do if you were mayor for a day?
Three winners will each receive a $100 cash prize, and their essays will be published in Minnesota Cities magazine.

Author's summary: Young Minnesotans can share ideas to improve their communities.
