Tracking cold, wet and gusty Wednesday morning conditions

Wednesday Morning Weather Conditions

Northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas are experiencing a cold and windy day, with temperatures starting in the mid-40s but feeling colder due to strong gusty winds and rain.

Overnight wind gusts reached up to 43 mph at the St. Joseph airport, and gusts will continue in the 30 to 40 mph range through the morning. A Wind Advisory is in effect until 10 a.m.

Light rain is adding to the over half an inch of rainfall already seen in the region, providing a welcome dose of much-needed rainfall. Highs today will only reach the low 50s, and tonight temperatures will fall into the mid to low 30s.

A Frost Advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. Thursday, with patchy frost possible on vegetation. Residents are advised to bring in or cover sensitive plants if they haven't already.
