The Bantam River Riders played their first game against the Hague Junior Panthers at Max Clunie Field on Sunday, resulting in a 27-8 victory for the River Riders.
According to Ashley Viklund, coach of the Bantam River Riders, the matchup occurred due to unusual circumstances.
“We typically in the fall play 12 –a-side in the KFL (Kinsmen Football League), but this year we didn’t have the people for that, so this was our first fall playing six -a-side,”she said.
The River Riders trailed 8-0 at half-time but managed to secure a comeback victory.
