Two neighborhoods in San Francisco reveal the aftermath of a citywide RV crackdown, with the situation expected to worsen.
The city's efforts to curb vehicular homelessness have led to a decrease in safe parking options for RV residents. Along John Muir Drive in the Lake Merced neighborhood, over a dozen RVs are lined up, including one where 32-year-old Jessica Cuevas lives with her 8-year-old son.
After being evicted from her $3,800-a-month rental in late January, she bought an RV on Facebook Marketplace and parked near her son's school in the Bayview.
However, when parking tickets started accumulating, Cuevas moved to Lake Merced, joining other RV residents who may soon have to leave, with nowhere else to go.
