State Representative Wiedower Resigns

Georgia State Representative Marcus Wiedower is stepping down, creating another vacancy in the General Assembly.

Wiedower, a Republican from Watkinsville, announced his resignation after six years in the House, citing the rapid growth of his company, which will require more travel and time away from the Capitol during the legislative session.

“While I’m stepping away from elected office, I look forward to remaining actively involved in our community and continuing to help tackle Georgia’s most pressing challenges, especially attainable housing through my work at Hillpointe,”

he said in a statement. Wiedower works for Hillpointe, a real estate development and investment management firm headquartered in Winter Park, Florida.
