A journey into the first 100 vinyl covers of Greensleeves, one of the world’s largest reggae labels

A Journey Through Greensleeves' First 100 Vinyl Covers

Alexander Newman explores the reissue of a book chronicling the London-based reggae and dancehall label Greensleeves.

Founded in 1977 by Chris Sedgwick and Chris Cracknell, Greensleeves is one of the world's largest reggae labels, releasing music by notable artists such as Clint Eastwood, General Saint, and Sister Nancy.

Greensleeves provided a persevering alternative to the myopic mainstream, even when Bob Marley dominated the market.

The new book, Greensleeves The First 100 Covers, is an expanded second edition, made in collaboration with streetwear label Stüssy, 15 years after the first issue.

Author: Alexander Newman.
