Local residents are opposing plans to install a set-down only bus stop on Navan's Boreen Keel, citing concerns about increased congestion on the narrow road.
“The traffic congestion on Boreen Keel is already horrendous,”
a local resident said, recalling the problems caused by the re-routing of the town bus service along Boreen Keel last March without consultation.
Residents argue that traffic should be redirected away from Boreen Keel rather than adding a bus stop, which they believe will increase the risk of accidents.
“Boreen Keel is being used as a rat run all the time. It is too narrow for buses and it is an accident waiting to happen,”
the resident warned.
