Kurt Eklund, Bay of Plenty captain and Maori All Blacks front-rower, has posted on social media about a ghastly injury sustained during a match.

'60 stitches to the face, which is never very fun.'

The injury occurred when Eklund tackled All Black David Havili, resulting in a facial wound that required 60 stitches. The incident happened 30 minutes into the match between Bay of Plenty and Tasman in the NPC quarter-final.

Eklund had to exit the field, but has since assured fans that he is "all good".
