US Government Invests in Medical Gown Stockpile

Six US companies will spend at least $350 million to manufacture medical gowns for the Strategic National Stockpile.

This purchase is a step towards replenishing the personal protective equipment stockpile, which was depleted during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new gowns are among the many purchases the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response has made to restock the emergency coffers

According to assistant secretary Dawn O’Connell, this investment aims to shore up the stockpile after years of neglect.
