The Claiborne County Board of Education paid tribute to board member Neta Munsey, who passed away on September 12.
Munsey started her teaching career in 1962 and retired as assistant principal at Claiborne High School in 2011. She also served as an alderman for the Town of New Tazewell before becoming a school board member.
“Tonight I thought it only fitting that we recognize, honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Neta Munsey, a woman whose legacy of love, service and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.”
Director of Schools Meredith Arnold read a eulogy during the meeting, which included a collage of pictures from Munsey’s career.
