The need for caregiving benefits may have reached a fever pitch

The Need for Caregiving Benefits

The demand for caregiving benefits has become increasingly pressing, particularly for working women who are "sandwiched" between caring for their children and parents.

Experts suggest that HR leaders can offer flexibility and special paid leave to support these employees. A recent report by Aon company NFP found that only 30% of employers provide family caregiver leave, often offering less than three weeks of paid leave.

"The constant pull between work, childcare and eldercare can be overwhelming for the sandwich generation, especially women,"

said Maria Trapenasso, head of Human Capital Solutions at NFP. As a result, many workers are forced to use their PTO for caregiving demands.
