A Metropolitan Police misconduct hearing for a firearms officer who fatally shot Jermaine Baker during a foiled prison break has been dismissed.
Jermaine Baker, a father-of-two from Tottenham, was shot by counter-terrorism specialist firearms officer W80 in December 2015, as police thwarted a plot to snatch two prisoners from a van near Wood Green Crown Court.
“The decision of the panel is that we find there is no case for W80 to answer in these proceedings and accordingly the case against W80 is dismissed.” - Chairman Chris McKay
The hearing panel chairman, Chris McKay, stated that the full reasons for the dismissal would be provided within the next five working days.
