Utah GOP Launches Efforts to Overturn Voter-Approved Prop 4 and New Congressional Map

The Utah Republican Party has initiated two efforts to undo a voter-approved initiative and a recently approved set of congressional maps.

In Salt Lake City, Utah GOP Chair Rob Axson filed a citizen initiative to repeal Proposition 4 and a referendum to overturn the new congressional map passed by lawmakers in a special session.

Utah voters "did not understand what they were signing up for" when approving Proposition 4

Proposition 4, which passed with 50.34% of the vote, established a seven-member independent commission to draw and recommend congressional and legislative maps for the Utah Legislature's approval.
