City Council Adopts Resolutions for New Police Chief and Director of Public Safety
The Atmore City Council adopted resolutions on Tuesday, appointing Chief Chuck Brooks as the new director of public safety and Maj. Ken Sessions as the new police chief.
Brooks, who has been the police chief for over 10 years, has more than 30 years of law enforcement experience.
He said he’ll be transitioning to a new role, focusing primarily on grants, policy updates and administrative tasks.
His new responsibilities will also include assisting with legislative efforts to secure federal funds and ensuring the city’s emergency plans are in place.
