Peoria's police chief, Eric Echevarria, has released "complete" body-worn camera and video footage of a downtown shooting that occurred late last month.
Chief Eric Echevarria said he’s releasing the videos “in the interest of complete transparency.”
The videos show the sequence of events as they happened shortly before 5 a.m. on the 28th, with some portions edited to protect personal privacy and preserve the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
The release of the video comes after civil liberties activists accused officers of using excessive force.
