Northern Michigan University’s volleyball season ended at Vandament Arena on Wednesday evening, as the Wildcats were swept in the opening-round quarterfinals of the GLIAC Tournament. Visiting Wisconsin-Parkside won 23-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-22 to move on to the tournament semifinals.
NMU finished the regular season 12-4, tying for third in the GLIAC standings and earning the No. 3 seed and home court for the first round. Parkside entered the match 19-8, placing them in a three-way tie for fifth overall. The Rangers delivered 66 kills compared to Northern Michigan’s 42, and despite NMU committing 10 fewer attack errors, Parkside held a clear edge in hitting percentage, .195 to .114.
That was after the Wildcats fell in four sets in the opening-round quarterfinals of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.

Parkside’s win advances them toward the GLIAC semifinals, which were scheduled to be hosted in Big Rapids on Saturday.
