Two-time Olympian Chris Plys, the third for John Shuster’s rink, enters the U.S. Olympic Curling Team Trials with calm confidence. His team aims to earn the right to represent the United States at December’s Olympic Qualification Event and beyond.
Before thinking about the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina or the 2025 Qualification Event in Kelowna, Canada, teams must first face a demanding national test. The five-day competition gathers the country’s top men’s and women’s curling squads to determine which team will move forward toward Olympic contention.
For 38-year-old Plys, who has already competed in Vancouver 2010 and Beijing 2022, the event rekindles both memories and motivation. His focus remains steady despite the challenges ahead and recent physical setbacks.
“Speaking at the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee summit in New York at the end of October, Plys shared a palpable enthusiasm for the challenge, even against the backdrop of a recent injury.”
Chris Plys, a seasoned U.S. Olympian, enters the national curling trials with renewed confidence and drive, determined to lead his team toward another shot at the Winter Games.
