Legendary Actress Sally Kirkland in Hospice Care
Hollywood icon Sally Kirkland, 84, is currently in hospice care following a difficult year of health challenges. Her representative, Michael Greene, confirmed to the Daily Mail that Kirkland is at a hospice in a Palm Springs hospital after being diagnosed with dementia this year.
Health Struggles and Medical Condition
A GoFundMe campaign created for Kirkland reveals she suffered two life-threatening infections after fracturing several bones. The injuries include fractures to four bones in her neck, her right wrist, and left hip.
"This past year Sally fractured her four bones in her neck, right wrist, and her left hip. While recovering she developed two separate life-threatening infections."
These combined health issues required extensive hospital stays and rehabilitation periods surpassing what her insurance would cover. Michael Greene is currently traveling from JFK Airport to be by her side, stating, "She will not go until I’m holding her hand."
