Toyota Motor Corporation announced its plan to globally launch diverse powertrains, including battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), following its multi-pathway strategy to reach a carbon-neutral society.
On November 10, Toyota unveiled the new Hilux, featuring a new BEV model, at a vehicle announcement event by Toyota Motor Asia (TMA) in Bangkok, Thailand. The rollout in Asia is planned to start sequentially from 2026.
For models intended for Japan, a diesel version is expected with a launch date set for mid-2026.
Toyota focuses on product- and region-centered management, aiming to continually improve vehicles. The company introduces various mobility types as part of its approach to developing powertrain systems for carbon neutrality.
Toyota stated, “We are committed to product- and region-centered management with the aim of making ever-better cars.”
