Surging Ducks Ground Jets for Seventh Straight Win

Rookie Beckett Sennecke recorded his first two-goal game, and Leo Carlsson scored two power-play goals, leading the Ducks to a 4-1 victory. ANAHEIM — Despite the government shutdown ending, the Jets remained grounded Sunday night at Honda Center as the Ducks soared to stay the hottest team in the NHL by defeating Winnipeg.

The Ducks have now won seven consecutive games, their longest streak since the 2021-22 season when they had eight straight wins. They have triumphed in nine of their last ten matches, including consecutive victories over the 2025 Pacific Division champions in Vegas and last year's Presidents’ Trophy winners.

“I heard about the losing days of the past couple years from the older guys, and they’re pretty pumped right now,” said Sennecke.

During their current run, the Ducks have also defeated the reigning two-time Stanley Cup champions twice, along with a Western Conference finalist and another 2025 playoff team. Their next challenge is on the road in Denver against the Colorado Avalanche, a clash between the NHL's two best teams by points percentage.

“It’ll be a good challenge for us. We knew that our schedule had a bunch of tough teams in a row here, and I think we’re proving why we’re an established team,” Sennecke added.

Leo Carlsson now shares second place league-wide in points with Chicago’s Connor Bedard, the only player drafted ahead of him in 2023, trailing only Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon.

Author's summary: The Ducks have surged to seven straight wins led by rookie Beckett Sennecke and star Leo Carlsson, establishing themselves among the NHL’s elite with upcoming tough challenges ahead.
