Latest Exhibition on Queen Elizabeth’s Fashion Legacy to Feature Pieces by Erdem Moralioglu, Richard Quinn and Christopher Kane

Latest Exhibition on Queen Elizabeth’s Fashion Legacy

LONDON — An upcoming exhibition titled “Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style” will celebrate the enduring fashion legacy of the late Queen Elizabeth. It will take place at the King’s Gallery in Buckingham Palace, opening on April 10. Tickets will be available from Tuesday on the Royal Collection Trust website.

Renowned Designers and Their Tributes

Three noted British designers — Erdem Moralioglu, Richard Quinn, and Christopher Kane — will each present an ensemble from their previous collections, displayed alongside related pieces from the Queen’s personal fashion archive. The exhibition aims to highlight both the designers’ creativity and the monarch’s timeless influence on British style.

Historic Celebration

Marking what would have been the Queen’s hundredth birthday, the exhibition will gather approximately 200 garments and accessories, with nearly half being shown publicly for the first time. This will be the most extensive display of Queen Elizabeth II’s wardrobe ever presented.

Reflections and Scholarly Insights

A commemorative publication accompanying the exhibition will feature reflections from the participating designers, a tribute by Anna Wintour, and an essay by Amy de la Haye, professor of dress history and curatorship at the London College of Fashion.

Erdem Moralioglu described the wardrobe of Queen Elizabeth II as “a snapshot of a very long life, a life of duty, and in so many ways it’s a time capsule.”

Author’s summary: The London exhibition unites British designers and historic royal garments to honor Queen Elizabeth II’s century-long style influence.
