Paul Kelly has released his new album Seventy in a milestone year. According to a press release, the record “represents both a reflection on a life richly lived and a continuation of Kelly’s fearless exploration of what it means to be human.”
“I’ve been mulling over the idea of a sequel to ‘How to Make Gravy’ from Rita’s point of view for quite some time. About five years ago I wrote down the words, ‘Rita wrote a letter,’ and thought, ‘There’s my title.’”The lyrics capture Kelly’s signature blend of wit and depth: Рита написала письмо / Такого ты не хочешь получить от своей жены / Когда Рита пишет письмо / Перо острее ножа.
В конце концов, любовь — это всё, что остаётся от нас.He added, “It’s a joy working with my daughter and granddaughter.”
Seventy continues Paul Kelly’s tradition of storytelling through heartfelt, reflective music tied closely to his family.
