The site is accessible via Route 4 in the village of St. Peter's, Nova Scotia, approximately 80 km southwest of Sydney.

Access and Safety

Between November 1 and December 17, 2025, passage through the canal is limited and requires 48 hours' notice. The canal operates Monday to Friday, starting at 8 a.m.

Measures are in place to ensure the safety of visitors both on the shores and in the water.
