Louis Rees-Zammit is set to make his long-awaited return to international rugby after more than two years away from the national side.
Argentina head coach Felipe Contepomi admitted that his team’s preparation for their clash with Wales in Cardiff has been demanding due to a packed schedule.
“It has been a challenge because many of our guys came through the Rugby Championship, went straight into club rugby, had a camp with us, went back to their clubs and now play this weekend,” Contepomi said ahead of Sunday’s clash at Principality Stadium.
“But we won’t use that as an excuse. We had some injuries but we are happy with the whole group that we have here. I would be very confident with playing any of the 32 that are training with us.”
Former Wales coach Warren Gatland is reportedly set to rejoin international rugby ahead of the 2027 Rugby World Cup. According to reports from Ruck, he is expected to take an advisory role with the Uruguayan national team for the lead-up to and during the tournament.
The 62-year-old previously worked with Peñarol Rugby earlier this year following his departure from Wales midway through the last Six Nations campaign.
Wales have four autumn internationals this month, all scheduled in Cardiff. The series begins with a test against Argentina in less than two days. The following weekend, Japan will visit, and later in November, New Zealand will face Wales at Principality Stadium on Saturday, November 22.
There are still tickets available for the highly anticipated match against the All Blacks.
