During the ongoing press tour for the final season of Stranger Things, a viral report surfaced alleging that Millie Bobby Brown accused co-star David Harbour of harassment and bullying on set. However, the show's creators and producers have pushed back against these claims.
At the season five world premiere in Los Angeles, Brown and Harbour appeared together, both smiling, seemingly unaffected by the controversy. Co-creator Ross Duffer commented on the situation but remained cautious about discussing personal matters.
“Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal on-set matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them. So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.”
Director and executive producer Shawn Levy described some of the reports as "wildly inaccurate" and emphasized the importance of a respectful working environment.
“At the end of the day, that’s the job. You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so.”
When asked how production addresses bullying complaints and ensures safety on set, Levy reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a positive atmosphere for all involved.
The Duffer Brothers and Shawn Levy strongly deny the bullying allegations, highlighting their long-standing, family-like cast relationships and dedication to a safe, respectful set.
