Actor Jeremy Renner has recently been in the spotlight after Chinese filmmaker and writer Yi Zhou accused him of inappropriate behavior. On November 6, The Daily Mail published an exclusive article revealing that Renner allegedly sent explicit images to Zhou.
Over several Instagram posts, Zhou described the troubling events she experienced. She recounted an episode where Renner, after drinking, became angry with her to the point that she had to lock herself in the bathroom for safety. Zhou remarked:
“I had to lock myself in the washroom because his mood was so violent.”
The report included screenshots of messages exchanged between Zhou and her coworkers, where she expressed concern about Renner’s violent mood and asked if she could make a phone call.
In a recent post with the word “CANCEL” illustrated, Zhou explained the emotional toll of the past months. She also mentioned attempting a phone conversation with Renner, urging him to improve his behavior and be respectful. However, this call did not have a positive outcome, as Zhou shared:
“I asked him to be respectful, but the conversation made me realize things wouldn’t change.”
Yi Zhou told The Daily Mail that Renner was the one who initially contacted her, not vice versa. She stated:
“He reached out to me first; I never initiated contact.”
Additional screenshots show Zhou calling Renner a "pig" after receiving the explicit photos.
These allegations have sparked significant controversy, highlighting serious concerns raised by the filmmaker about the actor’s conduct.
