On November 1, Jessica Simpson marked eight years of sobriety with a heartfelt Instagram post. The singer reflected on how alcohol interfered with her life, writing that it “silenced my intuition, blocked my dreams and chased my circulating fears of complacency.”
Jessica shared a selfie and expressed her gratitude for choosing faith instead of fear. She wrote,
“I’m so happy I chose faith over fear. It was not in the fight that I found my strength, it was in the surrender.”
She explained that making the decision to confront and let go of self-sabotaging behaviors allowed her to fully live according to what she believes is God’s purpose for her life.
The singer revealed that sobriety has significantly influenced her songwriting. Early in her career, while working with top hitmakers in Los Angeles during 2016 and 2017, she held back from releasing some songs because they didn't feel authentic to her.
Jessica Simpson’s eight-year sobriety journey has restored her intuition, fueled her faith, and allowed her to create music that genuinely reflects her true self.
