Toronto Powers Up 500 EV Chargers in Push for Electric Future

The Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) and Toronto Hydro have reached a significant milestone by activating the 500th public electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Canada's largest municipally owned network. This new charger is located at Green P Carpark 504 on Willingdon Blvd, enhancing EV access throughout the city.

Partnership Driving Expansion

Toronto Hydro initiated the city's EV charging network and subsequently transferred ownership to the TPA in 2023. Since 2020, the two organizations have collaborated to broaden the EV infrastructure in Toronto, supporting the city's electric mobility goals.

“Reaching 500 energized EV charging stations is a testament to what strong partnerships can achieve,” said Jana Mosley, President & CEO of Toronto Hydro.
“Our mission is clear: to create a seamless mobility experience that delivers on Choice, Ease, and Speed for our customers,” stated Scott Collier, President of TPA.

The recent expansion underscores Toronto’s commitment to accessible EV charging, aimed at encouraging greater adoption of electric vehicles.

Summary: Toronto's joint efforts have brought the municipally owned EV charger network to 500 stations, reinforcing the city's commitment to accessible and convenient electric mobility.
