Glenn Close on Avoiding Repetition and Embracing New Roles

Glenn Close shared, “I don't want to repeat myself because I think I'd be really bored.” Despite the many iconic women who have starred in Ryan Murphy projects, Close had not worked with him until now. That is changing with Hulu’s All’s Fair.

Joining an All-Female Cast

Close plays Dina, a powerful lawyer in an all-female law firm that features Kim Kardashian, Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash, and Naomi Watts. She admitted, “I was intimidated until I started to understand the tone. And once I understood the tone, then it became really fun.”

She added, “To bring all that energy... and all that experience together is bound to create something really unique.” This collaboration forged strong friendships: “This group of women, they’ll be my friends for the rest of my life.”

Passion for New Challenges

Close’s drive to remain engaged comes from her refusal to repeat herself. “I’m basically up for anything as long as it represents a new exploration.”

Upcoming Projects

She will soon appear in Rian Johnson’s Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, releasing the same week as All’s Fair. “I got two Ryans in the same week. It was like, what?”

“I don't want to repeat myself because I think I'd be really bored.”

Personal Memory

Many from my generation first saw Glenn Close in 101 Dalmatians. I was 12 when my father rented Fatal Attraction, and I watched it then.
