Additionally Edmonton signed veteran netminder Frederik Andersen as the offseason heats up. The contract is set up for shared duties this season under the new regime, a change expected under new coach Kris Babcock. Andersen told TSN he will split time with 24‑year‑old starter Stuart Skinner to give the team flexibility. The 36‑year‑old said his chronic setback, which required an off‑season procedure, is fully healed and will not limit his performance as he returns.
