Miami Heat forward Bam Adebayo updated on the left foot injury he sustained during the team’s 122-112 loss to the Denver Nuggets. Adebayo left the game early in the first quarter after an apparent injury while stepping during a transition play.
Adebayo exited with 3:48 remaining in the first quarter. He finished with two points and one rebound on 1-of-5 shooting across eight minutes. After the game, the 28-year-old shared:
“I felt a pain in my foot so I took it upon myself to check myself out and go see what happened… We’ll get more tests tomorrow and see how it goes.”
Without Adebayo, Miami’s thin frontcourt depth was exposed. Kel’el Ware was the only reliable center available, while Keshad Johnson and Nikola Jovic provided limited support. Precious Achiuwa, who was formerly part of the rotation, has moved to the Sacramento Kings, and Vlad Goldin remains in the G League.
This shortage left the Heat unable to match Denver’s size and physicality. Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with a dominant 33-point, 15-rebound, 16-assist triple-double in 37 minutes, shooting 12-of-18 from the field and 2-of-5 from three-point range.
The Nuggets outrebounded Miami 61-38 overall, including an overwhelming 21 offensive boards that resulted in 22 second-chance points. Meanwhile, the Heat managed only 44 points in the paint.
Bam Adebayo’s injury significantly weakened Miami’s frontcourt, contributing to their struggle against Denver’s physical dominance and rebounding advantage.
