Remembrance Sunday - We Will Remember Them

Remembrance Sunday - We Will Remember Them

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.

Message from Angus Provost Craig Fotheringham

This Remembrance Sunday (9 November), services will be held alongside parades across Angus and the laying of wreaths to honour all those who gave their lives defending our freedoms.

Please take a moment to join your community at one of these important events and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

If you are unable to attend, I encourage you to quietly reflect, alone or with family and friends, and remember the fallen.

Armistice Day - 11 November

Tuesday is Armistice Day, offering another moment to pay respects. At 11 am, whether at home or work, please pause for two minutes of silence to honour the selflessness and bravery of our Armed Services.

We must and will remember them.

Tribute to Active Service Members

We also extend our gratitude to the men and women still serving our country near and far. As they protect us, we will support them.

Recent years have brought uncertain times, with the harsh realities of war communicated through many media channels.

Author's summary: This message calls for communal and personal remembrance of those who sacrificed in war, emphasizing ongoing support for active service members amid challenging times.
