MRI on Heat’s Adebayo shows toe sprain, out Friday and listed as day-to-day

MRI Reveals Heat’s Bam Adebayo Has Toe Sprain, Out for Friday

The Miami Heat’s depth issues in the middle became clear even before Bam Adebayo exited during the first quarter of Wednesday night’s 122–112 loss to the Denver Nuggets. Following the game, an MRI on Thursday confirmed that Adebayo suffered a sprained left big toe.

He has been ruled out for Friday’s home matchup against the Charlotte Hornets at Kaseya Center and is considered day-to-day moving forward. The Heat will take on the Portland Trail Blazers the following night, also at home.

Due to Adebayo’s absence, Miami recalled center Vlad Goldin from the G League on Thursday. The decision underscores how thin the team already was at the center position.

“When it comes to the center position, there previously wasn’t much there in the first place,” the report noted, highlighting the team’s roster challenge.

After Adebayo limped off the floor and headed to the locker room at Ball Arena, the Heat were left with limited options in the paint. The situation raises questions about how Erik Spoelstra’s squad will adapt without their star big man.

Veteran guard Norman Powell acknowledged the reality of a roster that began the season with only Adebayo and second-year player Kel’el Ware as viable options at center.
