According to reports, the team has reached an agreement with veteran outfielder Leody Taveras on a one-year contract worth $2 million, pending the outcome of a physical. The contract details were shared by Spotrac.

Taveras, 27, is a switch-hitter who earned $4.75 million this past season. He split time between the Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners, posting a .205/.226/.304 batting line over 58 games. Seattle picked him up off waivers on May 6 and later designated him for assignment in June, after which he became a free agent in October.
