FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) — The day began much cooler due to overnight clearing. Skies remained clear through the afternoon with temperatures reaching the mid to upper 50s. By tomorrow, highs will climb back into the 60s as conditions begin to change.

Showers and strong wind gusts are expected tomorrow as the first of two cold fronts moves in. This system will bring widespread rain and breezy conditions across the region.

Colder Weekend Ahead

The second cold front will dominate discussions Sunday, pushing temperatures even lower. Highs will likely stay in the low 40s, while overnight lows dip into the 20s. On Monday, wind chills may drop into the teens.

Possible Snow Flurries

Forecast models continue to include a chance of light snow flurries on Sunday. However, significant accumulation is unlikely for most of the area.

“Temperatures are trending even lower with each passing day,” meteorologists noted. “We still need any precipitation we can get, as drought conditions remain unchanged this week.”
