The Wilmington Police Department is actively investigating a hit-and-run incident that occurred Wednesday evening.
Officers responded to a call reporting a pedestrian struck in the 4200 block of Independence Boulevard around 7:26 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a man with life-threatening injuries inflicted by a vehicle.
The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition for emergency treatment. According to a spokesman from the Wilmington Police Department, the driver involved fled the scene and has not yet been identified.
