Over 60 major and numerous small employers are collaborating with the government to address the rising number of people out of work due to ill health.
The joint effort, developed in response to
Sir Charlie Mayfield’s Keep Britain Working Review, aims to prevent ill-health, support employees in staying at work, and help employers build healthier workplaces.
The Review estimates that
one in five working-age adults is out of work due to health reasons, resulting in a cost of £85 billion annually for businesses due to sickness, turnover, and lost productivity.
The partnership will refine workplace health approaches over the next three years to establish an evidence base for effective strategies.
