Russia’s Crude Deliveries Fall as Global Buyers Step Back After US Sanctions

Russia's Crude Deliveries Decline Amid US Sanctions

India, China, and Turkey account for approximately 95% of Russia's seaborne crude exports. A significant reduction in their purchases could severely impact Moscow's economy.

Russia's seaborne crude shipments have experienced a sharp decline, the largest since January 2024, due to the effects of US sanctions. According to vessel-tracking data analyzed by Bloomberg, four-week average volumes from Russia's ports were 3.58 million barrels a day as of November 2, down by about 190,000 from the revised figure for the period up to October.

Cargo discharges have been more severely affected than loadings, resulting in an increase in oil on the water. This decline in flows has substantially reduced Moscow's oil earnings, which are now at their weakest since August.
