Municipal Recycling Collection to End for Industrial and Commercial Properties in Norfolk
Industrial, commercial, and institutional properties in Norfolk County will be responsible for funding their own recycling collection starting in January.
A transition of Ontario's recycling system, which began in 2023, shifts the financial and operational responsibility for the Blue Box program from municipalities to product and packaging producers.
The Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks announced that industrial, commercial, and institutional properties will no longer receive curbside recycling collection under the new provincial framework.
This change affects Norfolk County, where these properties will have to arrange and fund their own recycling collection.
