Helena candidate McKnight responds to release of highly charged voicemail to Sheehy's office

Helena Candidate Responds to Release of Voicemail

Just a day before Helena's city elections, Senator Tim Sheehy's office released a voicemail from candidate Haley McKnight, who is running for city commission.

According to Sheehy's office, McKnight left a threatening voicemail earlier this year, after the Senate advanced the Republicans' "One Big Bill" that included tighter restrictions on Medicaid.

McKnight's policies "stripped away health care" for millions of Americans.

McKnight expressed regret over some of the language used, but felt her anger was "justifiable rage" in response to Sheehy's actions in office.

Sheehy's office issued a news release, linking to an article from the National Review, which quotes McKnight's voicemail from July 1.

Author's summary: Candidate regrets language used in voicemail.
