The 2025 WTA Finals have begun with upsets, as two of the world's top women's tennis stars have faltered at the end-of-season tournament.

World No. 5 Jessica Pegula took down reigning champion No. 2 Iga Świątek 3-6, 6-1, 6-0, while Gauff struggled with her serve, hitting 17 double faults in a match.

Pegula said afterwards, adding "I don't think there's any secrets with this group of girls here."
