Argentina's President Javier Milei, representing the fascistic party La Libertad Avanza (LLA), achieved a surprise victory in the country's mid-term elections held on October 26.
The elections, which saw the lowest turnout since the end of the dictatorship in 1983, resulted in LLA gaining seats and obtaining over 40 percent of the vote nationally across both houses.
The mid-term elections renewed 127 seats in the Chamber of Deputies and 24 in the Senate.
The outcome is touted by the media as a popular endorsement of Milei’s economic austerity agenda.
