Atalanta, led by Ivan Juric, has dropped into the bottom half of the Serie A table after losing 1-0 to Udinese. This marks their first league defeat of the season.
With only 13 points from nine games, Atalanta is experiencing its slowest start to a league campaign since 2018/19. The match against Udinese, who has the joint-leakiest defence in the division, was an opportunity for Atalanta to gain momentum.
Despite the close start, with only one point separating the two teams at kickoff, Udinese began to pose an attacking threat through Nicolo Zaniolo. However, Atalanta's Marco Carnesecchi easily handled Zaniolo's speculative strike from range.
Atalanta's slow start continues.
