The Netherlands has delivered an Alkmaar-class mine countermeasures vessel to Ukraine, enhancing Kyiv's naval capabilities in the Black Sea.
According to Vice Admiral Oleksii Neizhpapa, Commander of the Ukrainian Navy,
by the end of 2025, the Netherlands is expected to deliver a second vessel. Neizhpapa reported that
crew training is already underway.
On October 12, Neizhpapa met with a Dutch delegation led by Defense Minister Ruben Breekelman and General Onno Eichelsheim, discussing the Black Sea region's security situation and prospects for further cooperation.
