Summer Outreach Efforts by Duke Engineering
Duke Engineering faculty, staff, and students spent the summer mentoring young researchers and engaging middle schoolers in STEM activities.
The Thomas Lord Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Sciences (MEMS) led several outreach efforts, including a joint initiative with North Carolina Central University (NCCU).
This program is perfect for NCCU students who are interested in exploring a career in engineering, as NCCU doesn’t have an engineering school.

These efforts made an impact on the wider community, bringing robotics to life for kids in the Durham community.
